How Gates of Olympus Works
There are no paylines. Gates of Olympus is a scatter pays game: land eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the 6x5 grid and they pay, wherever they sit. Winning symbols are then removed and new ones tumble down to fill the gaps, and if the new arrangement wins again, the process repeats. A single spin can therefore resolve into a chain of consecutive wins.
The multiplier orbs are what make it famous. At the end of any tumble sequence, Zeus may drop random multiplier orbs carrying values from 2x up to 500x. Crucially, these do not multiply each individual win — they are summed together and applied to the total of the whole tumble sequence once it finishes. Two orbs of 50x and 100x on the same sequence give you 150x on the accumulated win, not 5,000x.

The Free Spins Round Is the Whole Game
Land four or more scatters and you take 15 free spins. The change is fundamental rather than cosmetic: during free spins, multiplier orbs no longer reset. Every orb that lands is added to a persistent total multiplier that carries across all remaining spins in the round.

The trap is right there in the table. “1000” is a multiplier ceiling, not a win ceiling. Gates of Olympus 1000 has the biggest orbs of the three and only the middle max win. Super Scatter has the smallest orbs and the biggest max win by more than three times, because its top prize comes from landing four Super Scatters rather than from stacking anything.
So the intuitive rule — bigger number in the title means bigger possible win — is not merely unreliable here. It is backwards.

Gates of Olympus is an excellent game and a punishing one, and both things are true at once.
